MSFDC, a joint venture of Microsoft Corp. and First Data Corp. (FDC), introduced this week a program designed to help billers, financial institutions, and payment processors implement the company's recently launched electronic bill presentment program.
The Systems Integrator Program will feature consulting services from a pool of technology companies, as well as product development information, product integration support, customer service, and online maintenance assistance.
The program's goal is to educate companies about MSFDC's electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) system, which enables consumers to pay bills online, including utility charges, mortgage payments, and credit card fees.
Users are presented with "e-bills,", which carries the financial institution's brand. The MSFDC EBPP service helps the consumer keep track of the due dates of the bills and the amount due. The user designates when to send the bill and then MSFDC verifies the proper account is debited for the charge.
MSFDC reports that nearly 20 companies are participating in the program, including Crystal Clear Technology Inc., BlueGill Technologies Inc., Computer Sciences Corp., Electronic Data Systems Corp. (EDS), HOME Account Network Inc., among others.
