Online Shopping Site for Men Thumbs Nose at Malls

A shopping site designed just for men has launched with the somewhat antagonistic title of ScrewtheMall.com.

In a somewhat breathless press release, the company says that "the move may make mall benches and department store chairs virtually extinct as men gain a shopping venue accessible from the office or home."

The site lists online vendors by category and lets male shoppers browse gift guides organized by price or relationship, and visit product guides.

"The simplicity of the site is unmatched," said Torie Bigden, the site's founder. "It really reduces the frustration of the increasingly crowded online shopping world."

Among the vendors are Amazon.com, SharperImage.com, Fogdog Sports, BrooksBrothers.com and CDNow.com.

"Men are looking for the easiest way possible to shop," said Bigden. "Our main objective is to let visitors quickly find what they need with minimum hassle."
