AT&T Launches One Rate Online

AT&T, pairing e-commerce with its long-distance phone service, launched a new 10-cents-a-minute offer for consumers who sign up to manage all of their billing and customer service activities over the Web.

AT&T One Rate Online, available now, lets customers order their service, communicate with customer service and view their bills securely over the Internet. Charges for AT&T One Rate Online are automatically billed once a month to a customer's credit card.

For a monthly fee of $1, AT&T One Rate Online customers receive a flat rate of 10 cents a minute on direct-dialed, state-to-state calls.

"The Internet has enabled us to take a big step forward in the way we do business with our customers," said Dan Schulman, vice president, AT&T Interactive Group and AT&T WorldNet Service. "AT&T One Rate Online combines the clarity of a flat rate price with the convenience of electronic commerce."

Members of AT&T WorldNet Service, are being offered a special rate of 9 cents a minute -- with no $1 monthly fee.

Internet users can sign up for the service through the AT&T Consumer Catalog.

After enrolling in AT&T One Rate Online using a credit card, customers obtain a secure user-ID and password that enables them to view their billing statements for the past three months. AT&T One Rate Online billing statements also will include charges from other AT&T services, including WorldNet.

Priority One, Commerce Payment Form Alliance. Priority One Electronic Commerce Corp. of Akron, PA and Commerce Payment Systems Corp. of Orlando, FL formed a strategic alliance to provide a full array of Electronic Payment Processing Services to businesses.

Priority One's proprietary BILL COLLECT system provides automatic collection of receivables and payment obligations via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from checking accounts or credit cards.

CommercePay provides its INSURED solution for fully insured real-time processing of credit card payments over the Internet.

According to Abner Weintraub, President of CommercePay, "Fully insured transactions allow Internet consumers to use their credit cards with complete confidence against loss or fraud."

The first joint use of both CommercePay and Priority One's services will be to process donations for the charitable fund-raising telethon The Children's Miracle Network.

The companies will provide a "Single Interface Solution," a special Web page that enables donors to safely contribute with their credit cards, debit cards, or personal or business checking accounts using one simple form.
