Snap-on Tools Licenses E-Commerce Apps From CONNECT

CONNECT Inc., a provider of enterprise-class electronic commerce software, said that Snap-on Tools Co. licensed its OrderStream application which is designed to automate and streamline business-to-business sales.
Snap-on also licensed CONNECT's PurchaseStream, an application used to automate employee product requisitioning. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
"One of our primary goals when investigating e-commerce systems was to find a single software vendor that could help us automate both our buying and selling processes on the same IT platform," said Dale Elliott, president of the industrial division at Snap-on. "CONNECT is one of the only vendors today providing this level of integration."
OrderStream is an Internet-based order capture and customer service system designed to automate and streamline the selling of contract-based goods and services.
Snap-on Tools is a subsidiary of Snap-on Inc., a $1.7 billion global developer, manufacturer and distributor of tool and equipment solutions for professional technicians, motor service shop owners, specialty repair centers, original equipment manufacturers, and industrial tool users worldwide.
Product lines include hand and power tools, diagnostics and shop equipment, tool storage products, diagnostics software, and other solutions for the automotive service industry.
