Sterling Commerce Expands Product Line

Electronic commerce software provider Sterling Commerce unveiled this week a new suite of solutions at the company's EC Strategies '98 customer conference.

The new products include GENTRAN Web Suite, a family of Web-based software solutions for secure business-to-business electronic commerce, which is designed to integrate the business systems and processes of an enterprise with its business community via a Web interface.

Also unveiled was COMMERCE:Tracker, a Web-based shipment tracking system that supports integrated supply chain management initiatives. The solution is designed to provide timely shipment status information for shippers, carriers, and consignees. The information resides on a secure Sterling Commerce server and is accessible to authorized users through a Web browser.

CONNECT:Direct for the Web is a Java-based communications software solution that Sterling said extends value-added data exchange functionality to Web users within an enterprise, as well as to external trading partners.

CONNECT:Mailbox allows users to communicate with their trading partners through Internet connections, without having to purchase protocol support on the mainframe or modify or jeopardize any legacy information.

Sterling Commerce is a global provider of business-to-business electronic commerce software and value-added services. The company is ranked eighth on Forbes magazine's list of the Best-Performing Small Companies in America.
