Fossil to Participate in ModaCAD-Intel E-Business Solution

ModaCAD Inc. in Los Angeles said it signed an agreement with Fossil Inc., a designer of fashion watches and accessories, to participate in ModaCAD's 3-D shopping experience targeted at women between the ages of 15 and 28.

Fossil products will be showcased in the fashion e-business content manager co-developed by ModaCAD and Intel Corp. which will be available mid 1998. Financial details were not disclosed.

Fossil will be joined by other recently announced participants such as Seventeen Magazine, Steve Madden and Jantzen. This online fashion solution will feature a photo-realistic, 3D rendered virtual shopping mall that will enable consumers to experiment with creating a complete wardrobe of clothing, shoes and accessories in a personalized interactive environment.

Using advanced Internet push technology and multimedia enhancements, the program will facilitate the automatic updating and delivery of the latest styles and fashion designs, according to ModaCAD.

"Fossil's participation in our e-business solution adds yet another dimension to the fashion lifestyle experience that the program is designed to deliver to young women," said Joyce Freedman, ModaCAD's chief executive officer.

John Talbot, vice president of marketing for Fossil, said: "We are always looking for new emerging e-commerce opportunities where participation enhances our brand awareness and helps pull our product through existing retail distribution channels. We believe ModaCAD's e-business fashion solution meets this criteria."
