CyberSource Corp. and First Data Merchant Services (FDMS), a division of First Data Corp., formed an agreement under which FDMS will make available CyberSource's e-commerce services to its bank alliances and client banks for marketing to Internet merchants.
The new agreement provides FDMS bank alliances and client banks the ability to offer their merchants an end-to-end suite of turnkey Internet payment solutions -- including enhanced protection from fraud and export risks, third party fulfillment notification and sales tax calculation.
"FDMS wants to help banks bring merchants online, and we realize there's much more to electronic commerce than just processing payments," said Carolyn Brackett, vice-president of Internet commerce at FDMS. "Through our agreement with CyberSource, FDMS' clients can now provide their merchants with the option of a comprehensive bundle of payment solutions from a leading electronic commerce vendor with a direct line into FDMS -- everything they need to successfully accept payments on the Internet."
FDMS will offer CyberSource's enabled electronic commerce services in two packages -- CommerceFLEX and a CommerceEZ bundle. Both packages will be provided to FDMS' bank alliance and client banks for marketing to their existing and prospective merchant base.
CommerceEZ eliminates the need for programming or a secure server by using CyberSource to securely host a merchant's order pages. All the same risk management, commerce services and digital delivery services available to CommerceFLEX merchants are supported through CommerceEZ.
