SherpaOnline Signs with beenz.com

Start-up e-commerce business-to-business exchange SherpaOnline this week established a partnership agreement with Web e-currency operation beenz.com.

SherpaOnline will pay beenz to its membership base to spend on business-related merchandise when the network launches later this month.

"This new alliance will allow SherpaOnline to market valuable beenz products to its users while having the ability to act as an incentive tool in SherpaOnline's quest to become a dominant market player," said Ryan McCann, chief executive officer of SherpaOnline.

beenz is an e-currency that can be used by Web sites to manage consumer behavior and customer relationships.

"This agreement with SherpaOnline enables us to break into the business-to-business market," said Philip Letts, chairman and chief executive officer of beenz.com. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

SherpaOnline will be launching an open-source virtual network of more than 20 business communities in more than 23 industries that will bring buyers and sellers together through auctions, requests for quotations (RFQs) and classified ads.

Earlier this month, SherpaOnline announced a partnership with auctions.com to provide its business-to-business Internet auction services.
