Open Market Lines Up More Licensees

E-commerce software provider Open Market, Inc. today announced that a number of blue-chip companies worldwide, including RealNetworks, recently licensed Open Market's software.

Other new customers include PC manufacturer Acer America, Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports magazine, and telecommunications firm SBC Communications.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Open Market's growth has been distinguished by a number of new customers this past quarter, and we've maintained our lead in the Internet commerce application marketplace," said Gary Eichhorn, president and CEO of Open Market. "Time and again, we've delivered proven packaged applications to the networked marketplace that gives our customers a competitive time-to-market advantage."

Open Market (NASDAQ:OMKT) was up +23/32 to 16 3/32 in morning trading on today's news.

The Burlington, MA-based company provides application software products and professional services for companies doing business online. Products include Transact, a transaction processing, order management, and customer service solution.

Last week the firm announced net revenues of $16.5 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 1998, along with a net loss of $16.0 million or $0.49 per share.
