MindSpring Tags Talkway for A/V

Talkway, Inc. and MindSpring Enterprises Tuesday announced an agreement that makes Talkway the selected audio and video email communications provider to MindSpring members.

When new customers sign up for MindSpring Internet services through the company's digital video camera promotion, they will also have the opportunity to select Talkway's services through a co-branded Web site, which allows users to create, edit and stream personal audio and video messages by e-mail or over the Internet.

MindSpring members also may take advantage of the company's digital video camera offer and select Talkway's services by going to the MindSpring Members Only site.

Talkway's Talk More Ways services are designed to enable users to record audio and video streams on the Web, eliminating large file attachments and the need for downloadable software for the recipient, and include them in e-mail, greeting cards and discussion groups.

"Talkway's Talk More Ways services provide people with a quick and simple way to create and distribute engaging, personal messages to those they care about," said Fabrice Hamaide, president and CEO of Talkway. "Because messages are streamed through the Talkway Web site, people can record as much as they want without worrying about taxing their recipients' email or causing trouble for system administrators and Internet service providers around the world."

"MindSpring is dedicated to providing our members with the latest in Internet access technology," said Erika Jolly, vice president of Consumer Access Products, MindSpring. "Talkway's Talk More Ways services offer a free and personal alternative to traditional electronic messages. Now, our members can instantly connect with their friends and family by sending audio and video message in addition to traditional e-mail messages."

Mindspring announced in September it will be merging with fellow ISP Earthlink Networks to create an ISP with more than 3 million subscribers. There was no word on whether the Talkway agreement will extend to Eathlink customers.
