Auto-By-Tel Changes Name, Web Site

Auto-By-Tel Corp. today announced it changed its name to " inc." in conjunction with the launch of an enhanced version of its Web site.

Both are part of the auto site's long-term plans to offer comprehensive services online, including proprietary research tools, pricing information, links to third-party information providers and low-cost car buying, the company said in a statement.

"Until now, consumers have thought of primarily as a purchasing program that enables them to get a great deal on a new or used car," said Mark Lorimer,'s president and CEO. "The enhanced features on the new site let play a more integral role in the car-buying process, while retaining our commitment to painless car buying."

New tools now available include search functions, Kelley Blue Book used car prices, a for-sale-by-owner section, and the Consumer Test Drive area where consumers can share their personal views on vehicles they've recently driven. inc. is a nationally branded Internet-based purchasing program for new and certified used vehicles and related consumer services, with a network of more than 2,600 dealerships, representing every major automotive manufacturer, the company said.
