Barnesandnoble.com, Netcentives Team Up

Barnesandnoble.com said it teamed with Netcentives Inc., a provider of reward-based Internet promotions, and is now offering the ClickRewards program to its customers.

ClickRewards is a free, incentive-based, purchasing program that offers frequent-flyer miles and other rewards to online shoppers. As part of the agreement, barnesandnoble.com will become the exclusive bookseller for the Netcentives ClickRewards program. Financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed.

"ClickRewards complements the many values we already offer," said Carl Rosendorf, vice president of sales, marketing and business development at barnesandnoble.com. "We plan on regularly offering special incentives and promotions using the Netcentives Program."

In the initial launch promotion, online shoppers who make a purchase at www.barnesandnoble.com or barnesandnoble@aol (Keyword: bn) will automatically be awarded 50 points from ClickRewards for each order of $50. If the purchase exceeds $50, a click point is rewarded for each additional dollar.

Points are redeemable one for one for frequent-flyer miles from a wide range of airlines as well as for hotel stays and car rentals and more. Purchasers under $50 do not earn points.
