MovieStreet Launches KidFlix.com

MovieStreet Inc. launched KidFlix.com, an site focused exclusively on the $5 billion market for family-oriented videos.
KidFlix.com offers guidance, selection and competitive prices on tens of thousands of video titles, the company said.
KidFlix.com also entered into strategic branding and marketing alliances with Wired Digital's HotBot, West Coast Entertainment, operator of over 500 West Coast Video stores in 22 states, and the Starlight Children's Foundation, an international children's charity
"Internet retailing is undergoing a fundamental shift toward demographically- focused sites," said Jonathan Kaplan, president and CEO of MovieStreet. "This shift is driven by customers who demand specialized guidance, content and selection. We plan to be the world's one-stop shop for pre-recorded family entertainment products."
The KidFlix site will offer ParentsPad, An interactive environment where parents come together to share experiences and gain expert advice; KidFlix in the Spotlight, offering family focused articles updated weekly, written by family entertainment experts; and KidFlix Babysitter, offering to help families choose videos that will entertain both the kids and the babysitter.
Catherine Cella, children's entertainment expert and author of the book, "Great Videos for Kids: A Parent's Guide to Choosing the Best," will contribute twice weekly columns.
And KidFlix.com licensed the entire editorial content of "A Parent's Guide to the Best Children's Videos and Where to Find Them," a book written by Mary C. Turck and published by Houghton Mifflin.
