Performance Auto Parts Store Planned

IJNT International said that Man Rabbit House Multimedia (MRHM), the company's Web development unit, signed an agreement with Hot Rod Cafe Inc. to build an e-commerce site that taps into the $9 billion high performance auto parts industry.

The company said it expects to complete the site within the next three to four months.

The Web site, which will be known as the Hot Rod Cafe and is located at www.hotrodcafe.com, will cater to the interests of high-performance automotive enthusiasts by featuring a catalog of more than 70,000 auto parts. IJNT and Hot Rod Cafe have already identified four distributors across the country that will be responsible for shipments.

MRHM will receive a royalty on every sale made over the Web site, as well as a percentage of the advertising banner fees. The site is expected to generate $300,000 to $400,000 a year in advertising fees alone, MRHM said. Aggressive online promotion and traditional advertising in automotive magazines are planned.

In addition to designing and building the Hot Rod Cafe, MRHM will provide site maintenance and technical support. The site will also include live chat with industry celebrities, bulletin board postings, Web postcards, tips on automotive projects, race results, event calendars and feature articles.

"This is the first in a line of many Web portals that we intend to design which cater to the unique needs and interests of a targeted group of consumers," said Greg Matsen, the division manager of MRHM. "By bringing the right consumers to the site, we will sell more of the product offering. We expect this venture with Hot Rod Cafe to prove extremely rewarding and will seek similar opportunities with other vendors for future sites."

IJNT International provides wireless high-speed Internet access and service to homes and businesses without the use of phone lines.
