Outpost.com Launches Same-Day Delivery

Online computer products retailer Outpost.com launched a new, same-day delivery service in selected markets.

"Our overnight free delivery is driving tremendous repeat customers," said Bob Bowman, president and chief executive officer of the Outpost.com. "With this new service, we address the critical needs of our B2B customers and others who require products the same day."

Outpost.com said it now offers same day delivery to Chicago; Detroit; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Minneapolis; Pittsburgh; Ohio; New York; Washington, D.C.; Memphis; Miami; Orlando; Houston; Dallas/Fort Worth; Boston; Phoenix; Salt Lake City; Charlotte; San Francisco; Denver; Los Angeles and Atlanta on all orders placed by 10:30 a.m. EST.

In New York, the same day delivery is available in all five boroughs. Outpost.com said it expects to expand the service to most of the larger metropolitan areas in the near future. The cost of same day delivery service is $99 for packages weighing up to 25 pounds.

Also, Outpost.com said it will offer its customers a new, convenient retrieval service for product returns.

"Customers who buy products over the Internet have long complained about the inconvenience involved with returning products. Therefore, effective immediately we are offering to have returns picked up at our customers' homes or places of business," Bowman said.

"Over the years we have developed a special working relationship with our shipping partner, Airborne Express, that allows us the ability to offer these cutting edge services in a cost effective manner."

The cost for retrieving and shipping return packages is $10.

Outpost.com, established in 1995, recently expanded its business model to offer its customer shopping experience to a number of partners, including Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, Brookstone, Wolf Camera and Golf Galaxy.

Additionally, Outpost.com e-Business Services provides solutions encompassing site design, site maintenance, order management and fulfillment to other partners, including Sandbox, Computer.com and Exactly Vertical.
