Loudeye Adds AudioBase

Loudeye Technologies Inc. selected AudioBase Thursday as its newest solution for delivering streaming audio.

AudioBase is Loudeye's first and only non-plug-in streaming audio solution, joining the Microsoft Windows Media Player and the RealNetworks RealPlayer, both plug-in technologies, as one of the three audio delivery options offered by Loudeye. AudioBase will also begin offering Loudeye's encoding services to AudioBase customers.

AudioBase has a solution that reaches 95 percent of online users said Doug Schulze, minister of markets and solutions, vice president of marketing, Loudeye.

AudioBase founder and chief executive officer David Hynes said the partnership with Loudeye makes it easier for companies with private audio libraries to encode and deliver audio assets online.

"Our technology is flexible enough to reach consumers wherever they go on the Internet -- through emails, banners and Web sites," Hynes said. " Loudeye encoding will enable brands to digitize their offline audio assets for delivery online through AudioBase."
