MP3.com, Frontier Labs Team for New MP3 Player

MP3.com Inc. and Frontier Labs, maker of the new NEX II portable MP3 player, agreed to an MSP partnership Friday under which Frontier Labs will license MP3.com's MSP technology and its "Co-Branded" My.MP3.com interface.

The integration of MP3.com's MSP technologies into NEX II portable MP3 players will make more than 62,000 MP3.com artists and over 387,000 songs available to users.

Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com , said this alliance is just one of many collaborations that MP3.com believes will grow the global online digital music space.

"We share MP3.com's vision for providing music content to consumers anytime, anywhere, from any device," said Leslie Fong, president of Frontier Labs. "This partnership enables us to offer consumers a more robust listening experience with multiple ways to access and personalize music collections."
