Intuit to Expand E-Bills Offering Via PaySense

Intuit Inc. signed a non-binding letter of intent with TriSense Software Ltd. to expand its electronic billing solutions.

By teaming with TriSense, which has developed the PaySense digital billing solution, Intuit said it expects to expand the number of companies -- especially mid-sized and smaller firms -- that present bills electronically.

Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.

The companies said they anticipate that bills offered through TriSense's digital billing solution will be available through Intuit's broad distribution channels, including Quicken and Quicken.com; several America Online brands through Intuit's alliance with AOL; as well as in the Quicken.com service on Excite and WebCrawler.

TriSense said it expects to have more than 30 companies issuing bills through its nationwide network of billers and biller service providers (BSPs) by the end of the year.

"Our proposed relationship with TriSense will help Intuit expand the number of companies whose bills we can present electronically, especially mid-sized companies," said Ole Eichhorn, general manager of Intuit's Web payment business.

Intuit already has relationships with CheckFree, Princeton e-com and Your Accounts.com to present bills online to consumers, and currently has e-billing relationships with more than 45 companies.

Intuit's EBPP service provides a central point of access for consumers to view, track and pay their bills from the same site they use to manage the rest of their financial information. Using this service, consumers can also pay almost anyone in the U.S. and will soon be able to view their other bills online, whether they originate as electronic or "hard copy" paper bills.

TriSense's PaySense is a turnkey digital billing solution that connects billers and customers through a nationwide network of billers and biller service providers (BSPs). The PaySense Digital Billing Network provides a secure, fast, and convenient way to receive, view and pay bills through the Internet.
