Shopping Site Network Adds Gift Registry

NetGift Registry signed a deal with Network Commerce Inc. to integrate its private-label gift registry service into the Network Commerce Consumer Network.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

The Consumer Network consists of e-tail site ShopNow.com, comparison shopping site BottomDollar.com, and SpeedyClick.com, a commerce-enabled entertainment community. The registry has already been partially integrated on BottomDollar.com and ShopNow.com.

"With NetGift Registry, we expect to drive additional business to the thousands of merchants and businesses on our consumer network and to provide a value-added service to shoppers," said Anne-Marie Savage, executive vice president of Network Commerce.

The NetGift Registry allows shoppers to create a gift list from merchants on the Network Commerce Consumer Network. Shoppers, as well as their friends and family, can then return to the list later to purchase listed items anywhere in the network.

"By giving e-retailers, portals, destination sites, and other online shopping environments their own private-label registries, we are creating a new industry standard -- a networked gift registry that retains each site's unique look and feel," said Raanan Lachman, chief executive officer of NetGift Registry.
