Soundbreak.com, a developer of music Web sites, has added a division to bring its streaming media content to the broadband and wireless markets.
The new unit was created to align Soundbreak.com with new technology and distribution partners.
Jon Eastman is leading the initiative. Eastman was formerly at Pioneer and prior to that DIRECTV, where he developed and implemented its home satellite product launch.
"The result of this business and technology initiative will put us on the map as a universal broadband content provider," said Lisa Z. Crane, president and chief executive officer, Soundbreak.com.
Last week the company announced it had increased its global reach with an average of 10,000 users registering daily and traffic exceeding 40,000 individual users in a 24-hour period.
Soundbreak.com offers a DMCA compliant Internet music destination, featuring live professional on-air personalities.
"This is only the beginning but it will not be long before we have content distribution that will make Soundbreak.com's audio and video stream available independent of a personal computer," added Eastman.
"Collaborating and partnering with those major players who are pioneering these technologies and are readying to roll them out will help make Soundbreak.com a breakthrough experience for users as well as a profit generating global e-commerce site," he said.
