Wedding site The Knot signed premier provider deals with Fortunoff, a New York area home furnishings and fine jewelry retailer, and Linens 'n Things Inc. , a national retailer of home textiles, housewares and decorating accessories.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed. Fortunoff becomes the premier provider of china, crystal and silver on The Knot Gift Registry; Linens 'n Things will be the featured provider of linens there.

Fortunoff will feature brands such as Lenox, Noritake, Royal Doulton, Waterford, Wedgwood, Mikasa and Oneida. Linen manufacturers represented will include Wamsutta, Fieldcrest/Cannon, Croscill, Martex, and Springs Industries.

Guests will also be able to purchase Fortunoff items off a Knot Registry in any of its retail stores. In addition, Fortunoff will provide in-store and off-line promotion for The Knot and will feature links to The Knot's etiquette advice and personalized wedding planning tools. Fortunoff will also sell honeymoon trips and wedding supplies from The Knot both online and in-store.

Visitors to the gift registry will also be able to purchase items at any of the 244 Linens 'n Things stores. Linens 'n Things also will provide in-store and off-line promotions and its Web site will feature links to The Knot's wedding planning tools, wedding supplies and honeymoon trips.

"Our relationship with The Knot will give us access to an enormous national audience of brides and grooms," said David Fortunoff, president of Fortunoff.com.

"We are confident that this relationship will greatly benefit consumers as well as our businesses," said Norman Axelrod, president and CEO of Linens 'n Things, a national chain that was founded in 1975.

Launched in November 1998, The Knot Gift Registry features more than 10,000 gift items. Founded in 1922, Fortunoff has five retail stores specializing in home furnishings and fine jewelry in New York and New Jersey as well as a national e-commerce Web site.
