Online trading community eBay Inc. signed a deal with Juno Online Services Inc. to be the exclusive provider of online trading services on JunoLand, Juno's online community site, and on Shop@Juno, the company's new online shopping channel.

Both JunoLand and Shop@Juno can be reached through links on Juno's Web portal site. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

Juno will promote the new relationship both within the Juno portal and in banner and pop-up ads that will appear elsewhere on the Juno service. Juno will also promote eBay in upcoming issues of the e-mail newsletter it distributes to its members.

"The addition of auction functionality to the roster of Juno services enhances our user experience and helps our members take full advantage of what the Web has to offer," said Leelila Strogov, a vice president for business development at Juno.

Juno offers several levels of service, ranging from basic, ad-backed dial-up e-mail --which is provided to the user for free -- to full, competitively priced access to the Web. Since the launch of Juno's basic e-mail service in April 1996, more than 7.6 million Juno accounts have been created.
