GetMusic LLC has announced a content agreement with America Online, Inc. under which GetMusic will become an anchor tenant in AOL's Music Channel and be featured on the channel's main page.
In addition, GetMusic will provide streaming video programming to members signing on to the AOL service with a high-speed connection as part of the "AOL PLUS" multimedia content offering. The relationship also includes placement on Netscape and CompuServe. In addition, visitors to participating AOL brands will be linked directly to a co-branded GetMusic site.
"We are committed to providing our members with music content that is entertaining, original and compelling -- the kind of content that can be found at GetMusic," said Jim Bankoff, vice president of strategy and operations, AOL. "By covering such a broad array of artist and music styles, GetMusic has something for all of our members who love music."
"There is no question that AOL is one of the best ways to reach today's online community. This relationship provides us with a tremendous opportunity to introduce our brand and content to millions of potential new customers," said Jay Dubiner, senior vice president of business development at GetMusic. "In addition, we are very excited to provide broadband-quality programming to AOL members with a high-speed connection as part of the 'AOL PLUS' offering, and to be an important part of this entertainment revolution."
