Voquette Inc. has released in beta a free service that allows business professionals to create personal programs of Web audio from 75 brand-name sources including Wall Street Journal, ON24, CNET Radio, techtv radio, and the BBC World Service. Voquette enables users to automatically record and listen to Web audio while they work, or on a variety of portable devices -- including mobile phones -- during their commute.
"Web audio is becoming increasingly valuable to business professionals, but few have the time to find and listen to all of the content relevant to their personal and business needs," said Philip J. Monego, Sr. Voquette CEO and chairman.
The new service integrates the personalized "MyVoquette" feature on www.voquette.com with updated Voquette Media Manager software (VMM 1.5) to create a process for recording, managing and listening to Web audio regardless of format, speed of connection, or time of broadcast. The MyVoquette personal audio homepage allows users to create and manage custom lists of audio programs and also email customized programs to a colleague.
The new Voquette Audio Newsclipper finds and delivers audio content daily by keyword and context. Users submit the company names, market segments and daily news topics of interest and the Audio Newsclipper automatically updates keyword queries as new content appears online. The result is a constant flow of personally relevant audio news, updated and delivered automatically to a portable device as frequently as desired.
The new VMM 1.5 organizes audio programs by folder and category, and allows users to play a string of programs from MyVoquette in sequence - much like a customized audio playlist.
