The OutpostAuctions.com area will operate as a stand-alone site for registered bidders and will be linked from Cyberian Outpost's home page. Initially more than 36 items will be available for bidding, with more planned as the site expands.

The company sited statistics from Internet research group Jupiter Communications, which estimates that the online auction market will soar to 6.5 million buyers purchasing $3.2 billion of merchandise by 2002.
