Coupon Web Site Launched Real World Malls

Chicago-based Internet coupon marketer CoolSavings and General Growth Properties Inc., the nation's second largest regional mall company, are planning an Internet coupon Web site for savings at 36 General Growth regional shopping malls across the country.

The new site will allow shoppers to visit the CoolSavings Web site and download coupons to be redeemed for savings from local mall retailers.

"General Growth continues to think 'out of the box' for its customers and retailers," said Mark Klockner, vice president, General Growth Properties. "We believe in supporting the shoppers at our malls and the CoolSavings Program will add great value and convenience for them."

"CoolSavings is committed to helping traditional brick and mortar retailers bridge the gap between their retail outlet stores and the Internet by providing shoppers with one-stop access to great savings that they can print and use in stores," said Craig S. Peterson, vice president of CoolMalls, a division of coolsavings.com inc.

"Because General Growth is a recognized leader in the shopping center industry, this relationship provides the backbone for a successful launch of our CoolMalls program and helps us to further extend our CoolSavings Internet coupon model into another local market shopping venue."

Through the CoolMalls program, participating mall retailers, department stores and national mall-based chain stores located in the General Growth malls will have the opportunity to post offers on a customized, CoolMalls Web page accessible through www.coolsavings.com. Shoppers gain access to targeted special offers and promotions from their local neighborhood mall retailers as well as from CoolSavings' extensive list of national retailers.

In addition, General Growth's retailers will be able to track which offers are most effective for shoppers and tailor future offers based on those results.

Participating General Growth shopping centers are located in major metropolitan areas including Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and throughout the Michigan, and Northern Florida areas.

The launch comes on the heels of a successful test market during the holiday shopping season at Lansing Mall, Lansing, MI and Town East Mall in Dallas.
