Worldspan Extends Deal with Priceline

Name-your-price e-commerce operation Priceline.com signed a technology deal making Atlanta-based Worldspan as its preferred global distribution system to power the e-commerce company's travel pricing and reservations service.

Priceline , which reported its earnings on Monday, said that it will use Worldspan ePricing and enhancements to Worldspan Hotel Select.

Worldspan, a provider of electronic travel information, Internet products and connectivity and e- commerce capabilities for travel agencies, travel service providers and corporations, has provided transaction processing and other e-commerce services for Priceline since 1998; this agreement builds on earlier arrangements.

The agreement "...ensures that Priceline.com's travel supplier/partners will continue to have a familiar, reliable processing interface that provides them with superior economics for many years to come," said Jeffery H. Boyd, priceline.com president and COO. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Worldspan is owned by affiliates of Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and American Airlines.
