Dow Jones Interactive Integrates Services With Intranets

Dow Jones & Co. released an enhanced version of its Server Software that allows companies to integrate content with their intranets.

Dow Jones Interactive Server Software 3.0 is designed to customize news and business information into intranets. Users can search and navigate through an estimated 6,000 newspapers, trade publications, business magazines and newswires from Dow Jones Interactive's Publications Library, Web sites selected by Dow Jones editors.

Server Software 3.0 is based on the following Microsoft technology including Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0, Windows NT Server 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or later, SQL Server 7.0 and Site Server 3.0.

"Over the past year, we have further developed our intranet toolkit to give managers of company intranets more options when customizing content so they can continuously meet the complex business information needs of employees in their organizations," said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive LLC, a new venture being formed by Dow Jones and Reuters to serve corporate desktops with global news and business information.

Server Software 3.0 is now being beta tested and is scheduled for release in the third quarter.
