IBM Unveils E-Business Portal

IBM Corp. Tuesday rolled out its enterprise information portal as the first step of the seminal computer company's software strategy to aid corporations' quest to manage the glut of information saturating e-business applications.

IBM's (IBM) new portal, which will be available worldwide later this month, will allow clients to easily access, search, integrate and manage a host of data sources.

By taking advantage of the portal's data integration and search methods, companies may engage in extensive search queries across a number of sources, including multimedia, e-documents, Lotus Notes files and Web servers.

The portal was designed to allow its users to make faster, more effective business decisions by eliminating the information overload from multiple mediums.

Leading provider of enterprise portals, Viador Inc., is continuing its long-standing strategic alliance with IBM by supporting the giant's new enterprise portal via its e-portal suite, which provides centralized access to the most extensive set of business information sources.

"Viador's portal solution combined with the underlying data access, integration and search capabilities of IBM's enterprise information portal, will enable customers to quickly and dramatically enhance their productivity, said Jim Kelly, vice president of marketing, IBM data management solutions.
