Enterworks, Sequoia Create New Portal Solution

Content integrator Enterworks Inc. and business software provider Sequoia Software Wednesday joined forces to create a portal solution.

The application is based on Sequoia's XML Portal Server and Enterworks' Content Integrator, which can support numerous business activities.

Sequoia released XPS version 3.0 last June. The program provides personalized content delivery on browsers or any wireless device. and automates business processes through an integrated workflow engine.

Enterworks Content Integrator powers the full range of e-business interactions by managing content in real time from disparate sources and consolidating it into a single Web-enabled view.

The bundling makes it possible for an organization's existing IT infrastructure to support new services for customers, partners, and suppliers, in addition to making it easier for employees to navigate their company's intranet.

The two firms said they will put together a marketing and sales program to educate businesses about the portal.

"The sweet spot for XPS are customer deployments where information from core operational applications is re-purposed to support e-processes aimed at retaining or acquiring customers," said Bryan Caporlette, vice president, product management, Sequoia.

"Sequoia has engineered XPS to be an e-business command center that aggregates, manages and extends information and processes from across a company's value chain."
