NetNation, Stormix to Power Portal

Online proofing firm Tribal DDB Canada Wednesday enlisted NetNation Communications Inc. and Stormix Technologies Inc. to manufacture an intranet for its internal and client communications.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

NetNation, a hosting company, domain name registrar and application service provider all rolled in to one, and network Linux provider Stormix, erected a Web-based solution to manage client portfolios.

Stormix built the customized server/firewall solution now co-located and monitored at NetNation's new IP network infrastructure.

Roger Ferguson, managing director for Tribal DDB Canada Inc., said it was important to be completely collaborative in his firm's sector

"We chose Stormix because of their demonstrated expertise in network firewalls and Linux programming. They provided us with a secure solution that is easily scalable," Ferguson said. "NetNation was chosen for its fully redundant multi-homed data center with high security and network connectivity."

Stormix Chief Executive Officer David Talmor, whose firm develops Linux applications for small- to medium-sized businesses, said the deal was a perfect example of how open, Linux-based solutions meet the needs of enterprise customers.
