Companies Launch Intranet-Based Credit Card Program

Consumer Financial Network Inc. and First USA are teaming up to launch an intranet-accessible credit card program designed for corporate employees.

In announcing the venture late Thursday, the company said the venture will offer corporate employees credit cards with a competitive interest rate combined with superior customer service and benefits.

Eligible card members will be able to apply for credit cards and receive customer service through the Internet and corporate intranets.

Lisa Peddy, CFN's executive vice president said intranets offer both companies a new and exciting distribution channel.

"We believe First USA is positioned to become a significant player in the credit card e-commerce marketplace... We're eager to take advantage of the opportunity to assist First USA in bringing a valuable and meaningful service to corporate employees," she said.

James Grant, First USA's senior vice president of marketing, said being able to target customers seeking new credit card offerings at their worksite is an exciting opportunity.

"Through CFN, we are able to reach and deliver quality credit card services through the worksite to customers actively seeking the best products in the marketplace today," he said.
