Web-Based Business Intelligence Launched

Symix Systems recently added a Web-enabled business intelligence application to its SyteLine enterprise suite for midsize manufacturers of industrial products.

SyteLine Business Intelligence Web lets manufacturers deploy business management data throughout the company using an existing intranet.

"Business intelligence provides dynamic, graphical analysis of key business indicators, such as product line growth rates and manufacturing metrics," said Daryll Wartluft, Symix VP and general manager of the company's SyteLine Business Unit. "The ability to now deploy this type of critical business management information to key operations and customer service professionals allows companies to identify new opportunities within their business, then execute immediately."

Using SyteLine Business Intelligence Web, manufacturers can post data marts or multidimensional views of key business drivers to their intranet sites. To access the data, employees need only use their standard browsers and drill down to the data which can be sorted and filtered to yield useful information.

"Most employees' informational needs will be met with the standard Web-deployed data marts," said the company.

Also from the same vendor is SyteLine Web, a Web commerce application that enables manufacturers to partner with their customers and suppliers over the Internet. Further information about these and other Symix products is available from the vendor's Web site.
