Input Software Integrates With E-Commerce Provider Optika

San Jose, CA-based Input Software Inc., a provider of information capture software, said it has integrated its flagship information capture software, InputAccel, with Optika eMedia, a new Web-based business-to-business transaction management software solution from Optika Inc.

Optika is a leading provider of Web commerce solutions for intranets and extranets.

Optika eMedia combines imaging and document management, workflow and COLD applications with a Web-based architecture to manage a full range of paper-based and electronic business transactions.

The combined InputAccel/eMedia solution offering will enable users to automate and manage the conversion of paper-based information and electronic documents into compatible file formats that can support e-commerce transactions across Web-based extranets or intranets, the companies said..

The integration of the products is made possible via the InputAccel Export Module for Images and Index Data. Technical support will be provided by both companies for their respective products.

Input Software and Optika have been technology partners since 1995, with InputAccel providing a front-end information capture solution for Optika's previous generation FilePower suite of products.

The two companies also committed to a new strategic marketing alliance in shared target vertical markets including financial services, retail and manufacturing. Input Software and Optika will undertake cooperative marketing activities, such as joint participation in seminars, development of sales collateral and production of Web-based initiatives.

Input Software develops, markets and supports software products that automate and manage the process of converting externally generated data--provided as paper, faxes, microfiche or electronic files--into an electronic format compatible with enterprise computing systems. Colorado Springs, CO-based Optika's software bridges the gap between paper and electronic commerce across the enterprise and throughout supply chains.
