Communications ASP Onebox.com Raises $50 Million

Onebox.com, an Application Service Provider in the wireless and Internet communications markets, has raised $50 million in a Series C round of financing, bringing the total amount of private funding to nearly $70 million.

This round was led by Meritech Capital Partners and includes investments from Bowman Capital Management and international venture capital firms Vision Capital and Macquarie Technology Funds.

IVP and Brentwood Venture Capital, which led the company through its first two rounds of funding, also participated in this round.

"Ongoing breakthroughs in IP telephony applications are putting wireless telecommunications and the Internet on an fast track toward convergence, said a Meritech Capital spokesman.

"With its application service provider (ASP) business model, pure IP infrastructure and massively scaleable architecture, Onebox.com is well positioned to become the leading provider of integrated messaging services to both telecom and Internet companies."

Onebox.com currently has alliances and ASP relationships with businesses such as Amazon.com, ZDNet, NeoPoint, and Bolt.com to provide users of these sites with the ability to send, store and retrieve their phone, fax and e-mail messages using Onebox.com's communication capabilities.
