Arthur Andersen in San Francisco said it has made an equity investment in Pilot Network Services Inc., a provider of secure Internet services for electronic commerce.
Adding Pilot to its considerable arsenal of "best practice" solution providers for its clients, Arthur Andersen said it will expand its Computer Risk Management services for secure network connectivity, enhanced access technology, and secure monitoring tools.
Financial specifics were not disclosed.
Computer Risk Management services help clients manage the business risk associated with information technology.
"Corporations subscribing to Pilot's secure electronic commerce services can focus on their core business because they don't have to build and integrate security systems," said Marketta Silvera, president, founder and CEO of Pilot.
The investment was initiated by Arthur Andersen Knowledge Enterprises, a newly formed operating unit focused on opportunities related to electronic commerce and new interactive media.
