Cloud computing may be all the rage, but from HP's vantage point, data centers still represent a substantial opportunity.
While HP is no stranger to the cloud, the computing giant has rolled out a new service that aims to help businesses design and build data centers.
Dubbed the Critical Facilities Implementation service, the new offering promotes design, construction and project management through a single vendor. Importantly, businesses that take advantage of the service will not be locked into purchasing HP's IT equipment.
The company explains that it was encouraged to bring the new services offering to market as the rate of IT spending begins to return to pre-recession levels.
"Now that the economy is coming back, we expect to see the same amount of spending in 2012 that we saw in 2007 at the height," said Rick Einhorn, HP's worldwide director of critical facilities services.
