Juniper Acquires WANDL (Wide Area Network Design Laboratory) for $60 Million

WANDL (Wide Area Network Design Laboratory) has a portfolio of network design and traffic engineering software solutions. Among WANDL's offerings, its IP/MPLSView solution includes design and planning, management and monitoring, and service creation and WANDLprovisioning components.

WANDL's other solutions include the Network Planning and Analysis Tools (NPAT) suite, a planning solution of optical and frame relay networks. Juniper will also benefit from WANDL's Multilayer IP-over-transport Network Design (MIND) solution.

"We believe the combination of WANDL's industry-leading network software solutions and Juniper's deep expertise in enabling high-performance networks will further benefit our global customers seeking to build next-generation architectures with greater operational efficiency and lower total cost of ownership," Dave Wang, president of WANDL, Inc., said in a statement. "WANDL's employees have developed extensive skills in deploying advanced network management and design solutions for large multivendor networks."
