New Edge Networks Inc. this week extended its wholesale broadband access services to 200 select markets in the U.S.
The digital subscriber line wholesaler intends to expand its nationwide network to more than 300 operation locations in 18 states this year.
The company is working to complete its network totaling DSL access from 750 locations nationwide. New Edge Networks is certified to provide service in 44 states and plans to offer service in all 50 states by early next year.
Dan Moffat, New Edge Networks president and chief executive officer, said he's very proud of the company's team's focus and success in scaling for its national rollout.
Moffat said New Edge Networks is operating from a solid base of DSL solutions. He added the next step is to rev up the sales and marketing teams to distribution its high-speed Internet access.
"We now have a solid base of operating markets where we can drill down our sales and marketing efforts and generate revenue that will help fund our aggressive national expansion," Moffat said. "Since our founding last year, it has been important for New Edge Networks to get a fast jump out of the starting block, positioning ourselves to better drive our own destiny."
New Edge Networks currently wholesales DSL services 115 small, midsize and semi-rural cities and towns in 11 states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
In related news, New Edge Networks Thursday ramped up DSL services in the Tucson, Flagstaff and Green Valley areas of Arizona. The service is being offered to both residential and business users through local Internet service providers.
In the coming weeks, the company plans to expand its network to include DSL coverage in Prescott, Sierra Vista and Yuma, Arizona.
In most of its markets New Edge Networks has installed its network equipment in multiple locations than can reach about 75 percent of homes and businesses in the area.
Internet service providers resell New Edge Networks DSL service bundled with ISP access, local telephone, and value-added service charges on a monthly basis.
