EarthLink, Galaxy In Dial-Up Alliance

Galaxy Enterprises Inc. Friday formed a strategic dial up distribution agreement with EarthLink Network Inc..

Galaxy teaches Web entrepreneurs and businesses how to establish a profitable online presence. Galaxy educates approximately 3,000 customers a month from its headquarters in Utah.

EarthLink, a national Internet Service Provider (ISP), supplies Galaxy with dial-up software that is co-branded with Galaxy Mall. Galaxy Mall is a top rated e-commerce site owned and operated by Galaxy Enterprises Inc. Through the alliance with EarthLink, Galaxy is able to encourage its merchants to use the national ISP for local dial-up access.

Doug Byers, director of Internet promotions at Galaxy said, "EarthLink has over 1,700 points of presence (POP's), or local dial-up's, which is more than any other national ISP. We view our relationship with EarthLink as a win-win situation for both companies, as well as giving us the opportunity to provide our merchants with access to one of the best possible ISPs."

EarthLink provides Galaxy-coded software that allows EarthLink to track the Galaxy merchants utilizing the ISPs Internet access. EarthLink and Galaxy then share the revenue associated with Galaxy's customers using EarthLink as their local ISP.
