CompuServe Offers All the News That's Fit To Print

In a deal designed to incorporate more news content into its service, Compuserve Monday entered into an agreement with the New York Times Electronic Media company to host New York Times headlines on its GO NEWS channel.

The one-year agreement calls for the New York Times on the Web to provide daily headlines from its national, international and business sections within CompuServe's news channel, linking the headlines to the New York Times Web site. No registration is required by CompuServe members.

Financial specifics were not disclosed.

"CompuServe offers us the opportunity to showcase ourheadlines in front of a serious, business-minded audience," said Martin Nisenholtz, president of The New York Times Electronic Media Company.

"Through this partnership, The New York Times will be able to provide CompuServe users with an easy way to retrieve both headlines and full articles of the most comprehensive, updated news available on the Internet."
