DSL.net Expands Service Area

New Haven, Conn.-based DSL.net Inc., which already offers its service in more than 300 cities nationwide, expanded its offering to 52 new areas Thursday.

New cities added to the DSL.net roster include Las Vegas, NV; Kansas City, MO; Buffalo, NY; Albuquerque, NM; and Carmel, CA.

"These new service areas strengthen DSL.net as the national broadband provider that offers high-bandwidth to businesses in communities large and small," said David Struwas, president and chief executive officer of DSL.net. "Our constantly expanding service footprint and CLEC authority power our vision to be the leading provider of mission critical business connectivity and enhanced applications that enable e-commerce."

DSL.net offers symmetric digital subscriber line (SDSL) service targeted at small- to mid-sized businesses.

The company counts on its "all-inclusive" solution to line up customers. DSL.net's package includes the DSL modem, installation and testing, a dedicated phone line, and monitoring of each customer's service connection. Also, it is a facilities-based provider and deals directly with its customers, giving businesses a single point of contact.
