Google: Gingerbread Will Be Served Soon
A tweet today from Google's mobile group suggests that Android fans will get their first look at Gingerbread, its updated mobile operating system, sooner than later.
As Enterprise Mobile Today reports, most people expect Gingerbread to be released this week during the company's Web 2.0 Summit. Google previously said only that it would be available sometime before year's end.
The next-gen mobile OS is expected to support video chat with the same foundation that operates Google Talk for desktop computers, with SIP support in its Google Voice application to allow users to receive calls to their Google Voice numbers over Wi-Fi and cellular data.
Google is teasing the release of Gingerbread, the next generation of its mobile OS Android, with a tasty-looking picture included in a tweet.
