Google Shows Off Wireless Device

So far, we haven't heard or seen much related to the Google Nexus One phone. However, yesterday Google CEO Eric Schmidt revealed a nondescript device running latest mobile operating system, Android 2.3. The phone will work as a mobile payment solution and the device will include what's called a Near Field Communication chip, which could potentially be used for point-of-sale transaction payments.


SAN FRANCISCO -- What's coming next from Google? The search giant's CEO Eric Schmidt didn't completely tip his hand, but he did show off "an unannounced product I carry around with me" during an onstage interview, here at the kickoff to the Web 2.0 Summit late Monday afternoon. What Schmidt showed was a sleek black smartphone with any product name or logos covered over.
