Sacramento-based BWS Tech Inc, Approval Specialists, a company that specializes in getting certifications and approvals for telecom and IT in foreign markets, has released a report on where various countries in the world stand on the adoption of the 802.11a 54Mbps wireless LAN standard. The report is geared toward WLAN product vendors who might be seeking to expand into foreign markets.
The report, which costs $2195 and comes in Adobe Acrobat format, covers the countries of Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea Taiwan; they expect to add Indonesia, Thailand and India within the next month.
The report includes a summary of legislation relevant to use of the 2.4GHz band (used by 802.11b) and 5GHz band (used by 802.11a), copies of the related legal documents and regulatory notices of each country, information on usage restrictions, typical costs for certification and testing of equipment, and more.
