Toshiba's Computer Systems Group today announced the TLP-T720 and T721 Series projectors, with integrated 802.11b networking for wire-free presentation delivery from one to several computers.
Each of the products delivers a 1024x768 resolution through an LCD panel with a 400:1 contrast ratio. The projectors accept input not only from laptops but also NTSC, PAL, SECAM, and HDTV/DTV/DVD video sources. They can be used "PC free" by putting in a Flash memory card with the presentation on it.
The projectors also have 1.0 watt monaural speaker for any sound use and each can project up to 2,400 ANSI lumens. The difference between the T270 and T271 is that the latter also has an integrated document camera for showing off papers, photos, fine print text, and even 3D objects that are not already digitized.
The T720 will have an estimated street price of $3199; the T721 will be $3999.
Toshiba's previous wireless projector products included the TLP-T700U and T701U (again differing because of document camera) which cost about $3000 more when announced last summer.
