Lenovo Freshens Up the ThinkPad Line

Lenovo has decided to add a new coat of paint to the staid but reliable ThinkPad line with its new Edge offering, sweetening the deal with a $549 entry point price.
Since the brand's inception, you could get a ThinkPad laptop in any color you wanted so long as it was black. But with the all-new ThinkPad Edge series, Lenovo breaks with that tradition - and several others as well - to deliver a ThinkPad tailored to entrepreneurs. In addition to a glossy red finish, the ThinkPad Edge features a redesigned keyboard and a more streamlined design.
Available in 13-, 14- and 15-inch widescreen models, the ThinkPad Edge is targeted specifically at small- and mid-sized business buyers. "Small business users value PC aesthetics and reliability, and they are also cost sensitive," said Fran O'Sullivan, senior vice president, Think Product Group, Lenovo.
