Intel Refreshes Core vPro Processors

Losing a laptop is a scary thing. For consumers, personal and sensitive information can be exposed, in addition to the loss of data that's not backed up. For businesses, those concerns can be amplified, as lost equipment is a leading cause of data breaches, which can entail a host of liability issues.

Intel is trying to help.

The chip giant is out with the second wave of its Core vPro processor line, and with it, a bevy of encryption and identity protection features.

With Monday's release, Intel has included version 3.0 of its Anti-Theft Technology, enabling users to deliver a so-called "poison pill" to disable a device with a text message.

Additionally, Intel's new Core vPro CPUs promise substantial performance enhancements.
