Leak Points to Coming Features of Windows 8

It's getting harder and harder to keep secrets these days. Microsoft's Windows 8, the next major step forward for the company's operating system, may have lost some of its mystique thanks to leaked slides that were apparently intended only to be seen by PC makers.

But the leak, if it is to be believed, delivered some good news for Microsoft watchers, as Windows 8 appears to incorporate the "instant-on" feature that frustrated users have long clamored for. Datamation takes a look.


Nearly a year after Windows 7 was originally released to enterprise customers and PC manufacturers, details of what's coming in the next major release of Microsoft's ubiquitous operating system have already started to leak out.

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has said for several years that it would rotate Windows releases between relatively minor updates like Windows 7 and major updates like Windows 8.
