Microsoft Nears IE9 Beta With Final Preview

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 9 is starting to take shape. The company has begun shipping the fourth and final technology preview of the new browser, and intends to start beta testing next month.

To date, the three prior technology previews had been downloaded 2.5 million times. Microsoft has been trying to seed the early versions across the developer, designer and webmaster communities in an effort to broaden its testing circle. Datamation takes a look at Microsoft's latest with IE9.

Microsoft announced that it is shipping the final technology preview of Internet Explorer (IE) 9 -- the last pre-beta release of the company's new browser before it hits public beta testing next month.

Called the Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 4, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has shipped a series of pre-beta releases of IE9 since March in an effort to get webmasters, site developers and designers to buy in early to the testing process.
